I must admit I bought these partially for the label; turns out the noodles aren't half bad. Go negro/clown noodlemakers!

Maybe showing the armpit is taboo in Uruguay, so the stars are censoring it. Ah, those inscrutable Uruguayans.

And yeah, I think they're blackface caricatures rather than clowns. So don't toss that label: when Uruguay goes PC, it'll be a collector's item. :)

They look like negro charicatures to me.
they spot on resemble the old "whites only" theatre black charactres, where you had white people in black makeup (except for their lips) and white gloves.

Aside from the stylized faces, there's nothing else that supports clowns for me.

Nope, they stayed separate and were kinda slippery compared to normal pasta. I imagine it's the egg content. The ingredients are simple-- flour, eggs, water, and beta carotene.
They're cheap as dirt and one bag will feed you for days.
