I kinda figured like that one line of dialog from my old-ass Christmas comic of Fox remarking Vixen's name would imply she's a fox, Vincent would remark on Fawn's name implying she's a deer as a fun little reversal of that gag.

I would also figure her alias of Carolyn/Carol would be his alias of Carlin/Carl

the whole rule 63 thing is pretty damn fun, if at least the challenge of figuring out how to keep them similar from their original counterparts in both personality and design without deviating too far.

It really is. Thats why Rusty Steele/Ruby Stone works. Both names are puns of sorts, both of their first names imply red color when they're white furred, etc. XD
