Critique:
I think it's either the lighting or the color that's making areas of the model lose their definition/makes them hard to see the details. The hair above his eyes and his pants are really hard to figure out what's going on/see the overall shapes. You went through the work of making it look nice, but lighting is hiding your work.
As stated before, the ground is very busy and the lighting is losing some of overall shapes. Honestly, if the character isn't interacting with the base in some way, the base should be less detailed than the character since the character is the most important part of the picture.
Consider using different shaders for different types of material. The metal (or plastic) on the arm, the flesh of the body, and the fabric of the pants should have different materials because they all react to light differently.
