Holy crap! That satin is AMAZING! Looks almost like the real thing! Were it not for the trademark texture of pencils, it probably would look real. :D Excellent job!
I don't have patience for clothing folds and details and trying to capture different fabrics and materials. I should probably work on that at some point so I'll at least be able to draw them with some degree of success, but I dread it. >< Ugh. Same with backgrounds. How do you have the patience for it?

I don't. the limousine and chauffeur is not really BG, but the line in the far BG is. and that's a simple one.
if I do detailed backgrounds I normally have a reference to work from, except in rare cases.
as for the satin effect, I started with skecthign out the greater folds to determine the overall shape. a light layer of colour, in this case dark indigo, starts it off, and then heavier streaks add in the folds. following the complete photo might be impossible that way, but that's not the point. halfway accurate works well, too.
oh, and in the end I added deeper shadows with black. a wiper pencil helps with removing most of the pencil traces you mentioned.
creating fabrics like jeans or flat cotton is relatively easy when you start with light layers and add folds, crincles and shadows slowly. takes some time, but you see results pretty fast. for shiny fabrics like satin keep a sharp-edged eraser handy for extreme highlights. :)
thank you for the compliment! ^^

Wow. I still have to admire your patience. :P I've grown increasingly impatient with traditional media. The last time I tried to color something with pencils I about keeled over. And the results weren't pretty, either. Aag.
Anyhow, props to you for sticking with it and for working toward bettering your craft. Unlike me, who is too lazy to practice. xD

well, being too lazy seems an inherent trait in felines of all sort. but either way, your art has at least inproved a bit, so if you want to avoid being tickled by your BF whom will be heavily bribed by me with cheap booze, take a seat and try something new.

Whoh. o.o *shudders at the thought of tickle torture*
.... *sneaks off to try something different* >.>;
(Yeah, I realized earlier today that my art HAS improved quite a bit in the past two or three years I've drawn mainly only anthros. Made me feel better because lately I've felt like I've been backpedalling more than moving forward with my artz)

O.o why shouldn't I reply, I got enough time for it, and I always answer a nice comment... *watches you happy-dancing*
well, I can do that indeed, but right now comissions only, I fear. there is a journal with price quotes and such, you can shoot me a PM if you're still interested. :)
oh, and best wishes for your marriage!
