So the negotiations planned to take place on Saturday I was talking about yesterday? Has been postponed by the seller of the house to Tuesday. Not sure what to make of it - we'll see.

Much the opposite, I am afraid. In a city no one gives a damn if you run around pulling a sulky. If someone in a village of 150 people sees you trying that stunt you are an outcast within an hour. It's not easy being green...

The roof has me curious. ... are those snow barriers in the center/lower areas?

Yes, they are. With a roof as long as this one roof snowslides are a nasty thing to happen when you are standing below it.
