So, I still like a lot of things about this piece, namely the overall concept and the feeling I was going for:

But looking at it now, a lot of things bother me about it. Number one, how it whacks you over the head with ORANGE. It's like I'm screaming THIS IS A WARM SCENE, FEEL WARM DAMN IT. Orange is great but this piece has... no subtlety at ALL. My old desaturated laptop screen is probably to blame for SOME of it, but I have to take SOME RESPONSIBILITY, right?

(Wait, no, I just remembered... I had the same screens at the time. I HAVE LITERALLY NO EXCUSE)

Number twoooo, it doesn't have much variation in values? Most of it is a middle grey if you take away all the saturation. Values are still a bit of a weak point for me, but maybe I did a little better!

I figured, since it's almost exactly a year old, why not redo it to see how much I've learned in the past year? I think I've learned a fair bit about lighting, maybe a bit about composition? In any case, I'm super happy with the new one, and super excited to see how many things I can't stand about it a year from now! ;D Maybe I'll do another...
