Mini Kali isn't the same person as Kali. Well... she is... Its complicated. Let me explain.

Kali was there for the origin of the Azuri's, she played a massive role in the war that forged who the Azuri's are and the Chosen. Yet, she was not a combatant or a front line soldier. No, Kali was a brilliant yet guilt ridden scientist. She was someone who cared so much about the well being of others that she simply couldn't sleep at night knowing others were suffering. Her life was dedicated towards helping others, developing technologies to fight diseases, doing charity work and still it wasn't enough. Pre-Kali was, is anything, too good a soul, she spent so much time worrying about others that she never looked after herself. When the 7th Legion invaded and destroyed everything in their path, Pre-Kali was recruited to the experimental division immediately and began work on developing the Chosen. Her work and effort in those short weeks helped save the universe from the Legions wraith, but in final battle, Pre-Kali was removed from the science division and put into the Azuri program in a desperate act to get as many Azuri's out as possible.

Despite Pre-Kali's good intentions and everyone encouraging her she was a good person, she was not happy. She wanted to be dumb. She didn't want to spend her days working and her nights worrying. She wanted all the thoughts, the over thinking and the emotional torment to stop. She wanted to be big, strong, attractive and above all, happy. Her small and thin body didn't exactly bring hoards to followers and she was a very lonely person. When she was stuck at home, failing to open a jar, thinking about all the suffering in the universe, she just wanted it all to change, but knew that it would never come about, Pre Kali was not a happy person... she was a good soul, a kind girl who'd help you before herself, but desperately unhappy. She refused to join the Azuri program at first, knowing her brains would be better in the labs, but her Azuri transformation at the end of the war was obligatory,
and poorly timed....

You see, As Kali's transformation into an Azuri was starting, the war was ending, the citadel was falling and power was lost. The war had been won, but Kali's transformation had been halted. The safety systems on the tanks froze her solid to prevent decay, but the decay prevention was only supposed to last a few weeks... her transformation took years to get started again, and damage was done... The cryo freeze damaged her brain, rending it and destroying her memory. The Chosen finished her transformation, using the updated Azuri processes and decided to give the girl everything she wanted to be, prior to all of this...

They made her big, extremely strong, lovable and adorable. Rended of all her memories, when Kali stepped out her tank with a fresh batch of other Azuri's, she had no idea she was so old already, it was like she was born anew. Her formidable mental capacity a fraction of what it used to be, but she was happy from the very beginning of her new life. The old Kali, Pre Kali, was lost forever. Replaced with everything she'd always wanted to be, but never knowing it. Quill always used to wonder why Kali would sometimes become stuck in her own thoughts, staring into nothing as she seems to perplex things and never details about them, the Chosen believe its her brain remembering things from her old life, remnants and fragments of who she used to be, but she'll never become who she was. Kali has become her own person now.

But the Pre-Kali, as it turns out, was not completely lost. The Chosen, using a new data extraction method, managed to dig up a priceless blueprint. The biological blueprint of Pre-Kali's head. A flash photo of her brain before the freeze damage set in. And following the high commanders approval, they decided to rebuild her, as an Azuri. A completely new body for her, based of the current Kali's one but scaled down to something she'd be more familiar with.

Mini-Kali screamed to life in her new body, carrying on as if she'd never been frozen, preparing for a war won eons ago. It took a fair amount of explaining to do, but she soon learned what had happened to her. Despite everything, she seemed rather cool about the situation. Looking down on her new, strong, sexy, powerful body, it seemed like the impossible had come true. The new Azuri brain, with its better balance of hormonal chemicals, stopped her worrying endlessly about others... meaning that the first night in her body, she actually slept well... extremely well. She's bright for the future, looking forward to testing her new body out, meeting her peers, meeting herself, and developing the future of the Azuri's with the very best minds they have.

Pre-Kali might have been a miserable girl, but new Kali is a very happy girl indeed. And i'm pretty sure Mini Kali feels the same way too.

Mini Kali is sharp minded, fiercely intelligent, but sweet and adorable. She's caring and cuddly but isn't as bogged down as pre Kali. She's a lot less ditzy than big Kali, but cuddles just as well. Although her body is very capable of combat, she prefers to stay away from fighting.
