I can finally submit something with "rap" as the theme.
This is a serious attempt at a hip hop song so I would LOVE to know what you think of it. I can totally handle criticism. You should know that this is a looped song that uses only my voice.
The art piece is by
scurrow because as I have said before, he's my dandy war-hole.

Lyrics:
I was a high school loser, never made it with a lady
suckin’ on ya mom’s spaghetti, born ready, roll a chevy
I’ll put the soup on and we’ll break the levy, another
Seagertown pickup and we stagger, it’s heavy, Brotha
Another word to put ya mind in, get up, put your time in
a dozen to make you wanna rewind it
No, not again, I don’t think I could take it
the education, you’re not given it, you make it
can be a prizon, back, ya listen, up, you
had a bit of bitters, now ya quiters now ya, plucked
The level of importance that we press upon the years between
the age of walking in and walking out
they tell us it’s the best time
can it be the best time or
did we all just waste time
killing ourselves over things that do not matter
How many kids you know that come undone
ya thin it’s even started before yo hit 21?
I know 30 year olds who are stuck in the 10th grade, just wanna
shake em up, get in the truck, your bed is made, I gotta
take myself back, cause I can’t remember who the
prom king was, or yet, even better if a
single bridge I had burned came back to hurt
“permanent record” now that’s just absurd
let go the chains, let go the self, that
kept you always tryin’ to be someone else if there’s a
better negator of why to buy and pay later it’s that the
price of admission is to become a self-hater
It gets better if you make it better

I feel like its queen meets will smith XD ( reference to the end 3:50) but I love the message lol as for criticism the song is great the only thing in my opinion that I felt didn't really fit with the song was the beat-boxing I feel like the song would benefit allot from actual drums or even electronic drums (not that I have anything against beat boxing just feel it doesn't fit the song) overall though I relly like it keep up the good work :3

WELL it is a CLEAN rap, i'll give you that heheh. I'm glad you took the time to think about the point I was trying to make, loose as it may be.
The beatboxing comes from the whole "looper" thing I wrote it for. I'm on stage with just myself and a guitar (along with the looper) so drums aren't an option for live performance.
I could easily put in non mouth drums, but that wasn't the point of the exercise. I totally agree that it would sound better, if not simply more conventional.
Thank you for the feedback ^^

Brilliant.
Also, good job on your first official rap song, Pepper! You did not disappoint.

Lots of people say that X3 I've been listening to some underground stuff. Mainstream (lil wayne and junk) is pretty forgettable. Isn't ABOUT anything.
But if you find some deeper stuff, even Outkast or better Eminem songs (usually not the singles) it can be seen as the art form it was intended to be.
The group that made me want to record my OWN rap was "Cannibal Ox"
I'm glad you liked it ^^

Yeah! I have a friend who listens to alternative and underground hip-hop, he hooked me up with some good stuff :)
Even if I'm not that much into the genre, I've been proven that there is indeed something else to it other than the mainstream shlock!
I thought The Pharcyde's first album was pretty good. It was in good fun, so it's pretty hilarious and wacky.
Some of Eminem's stuff I like, When I'm Gone is really great – I love the story and the video.
Gnarls Barkley is really great, if it counts. It's really a mix between genres which happens to include hip-hop, but man it's good!
A couple of Will Smith songs I thought were pretty cool. I liked the fact that he went for the "clean" approach.
I didn't get to Outkast yet, but the guy I'm talking about did recommend them to me. They do look like fun!
Might check out Cannibal Ox someday!
So all in all, while it's mostly not my thing, I can enjoy something rappy occasionaly if it's not like the mainstream stuff and if I'm in the mood for it – I know there is some rather listenable stuff out there, and you just provided another good example :)

Hey, he's talking about me! xD
About the track - I really enjoyed your work. To be honest, I am very skeptical about so-called "furry music", because it's full of Renard wannabies, "brony musicians" (cue averagely made electronic remixes of songs from MLP:FiM), and many other people with some talent and expirience, but little to no creativity. You remind me of "Bad Balance" - a 90's Russian dub/hip-hop collective that became a cult classic in our country ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=By_iQMhA3vo , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4-vqZRwlKM - two of their songs). They had focused on inventive production, quirky lyrics and somewhat dubby vocals, so I can easily compare you to them in a best way possible. You have a new watcher :D

                    Aw thanks man!
This was a departure for me. If you wanna hear what I USUALLY sound like, you can either comb through my gallery, or just go to www.lookleft.us and listen to a whole darn album for free.
"Waiting" is my favorite.

Cool Harmonies with the beat box here, Pepper.. But, being an old f@rt greymuzzle, the rap style does little for me. I'm sorry but this was mostly lost on me. At least, this isn't the Angry Inner City: "Nobody F*n Gives me Anythin for f**ng Free M** F**r' " Rant. -It's much more Positive. I did like that kinda growly back beat part. Keep tryin, the beatbox thing intrigues me!

It's totally understandable. I try to find the good in every genre, as it surely exists if you look hard enough. I've found a bunch of hip hop I like in recent years and this was my attempt to be a part of the collection of thoughtful, well crafted rap music.
Most of what I write is like... oak ridge boys material X3 so yeah I expected to lose some people here.
