I recently (as in two days ago) got back from a trip from Ireland, so themes such as the maiden, mother and crone were in my head. I also saw a lot of nouveau style art while I was there. I wanted to work on art for people here but without references my drawings are total crap, but I did have myself and a digital camera to go from, so here it is.
This I'll probably end up painting more than once in various mediums and on various scales. I really do enjoy this drawing. I plan on drawing in bones and muscle and perhaps even veins and what not as well, and a fetus, and the background will be flowers and there will be a nouveau style border.
Although this is technically a self portrait, no, I'm not pregnant, it was just part of the whole lifedeathfertilityblahblah theme I have going here.
If you see anything that needs fixing, anatomy and what not PLEASE point it out now before I go any further on this. I feel like maybe the torso could be bigger, but I'm not sure.

very neat pic, nice composition and am looking forward to seeing this when it's done, especially since a lot of stuff that I've seen done in the art-nouveau style has been really cool.
by the way, something about the arm bugs me, but i can't put my finger on it, I think that the torso/chest needs to be narrowed a bit (front to back), and the ear needs to be moved up a bit (top edge of the ear should roughly be on the same line as the corner of the eye and the bottom of the ear should be on or close to the same line as the bottom of the nose)
