A pretty old character of mine, though I very rarely drew him before. Mrak (Dark) the basilisk, born from an egg of a 7-years old black rooster which was nested by a grass snake, was, surprisingly, adopted and raised by a weasel, who saw unusual kind nature in the creature. Mrak always wears the mirror glasses, defending others and himself from his death glare. His poison, though, isn't very strong and can hardly kill anyone, thanks to the harmless snake who was incubating his egg. Although referring as "he", Mrak is technically genderless.
Also, the artistic challenge was to create a nice and appealing design for a basilisk, usually dangerous and not kind creature at all.
