This is one part of a duo of paintings.
These pieces were a lesson in acceptance.
I had started these acrylic paintings about…oh…two years ago. Back when I loved traditional painting and I thought that’s what I wanted to do. Then I had some bad classes, bad feedback, and essentially, because of mixed information and trying to attempt new methods, I pretty much forgot how to paint with acrylics, which have always been my traditional love.
After working digitally for the past semesters and loving and appreciating that, I was cleaning my upstairs and found these things, sitting there sad and unfinished. I decided I was at that point in my career where I was ready to go back to this and use it to learn to mix what I had learned digitally into my traditional work, and vice versa.
And so this is the outcome. :) I’m very very happy with them. I think I will call them, "Give Life Back to Music" which is kind of corny but it suits them.
