Considered to be one of the most aerobatic of Warsaw Pact jet trainers, the Czech-built L-29 boasted a maximum speed of about 400 mph. Its operators included the air forces of Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, Bulgaria, and the USSR. An unmodified L-29 was flown on biodiesel fuel.
