With the weather improving, the Tuskegee Airmen P-51C is towed from the hangar onto the ramp at Saginaw Harry Browne Airport. Someone actually booked a ride in the rumble-seat behind the pilot for the sum of $10,000.

Now that would be a hoot. I got a ride in a D for my 13th birthday.

What many people don't know is behind the pilots seat is where all the radios and avionics were placed. As I remember the stack was about 200 pounds of stuff.

We who stayed on long enough to watch it taxi and takeoff were not treated to any high-speed pass. The P-51 climbed out and went due South.

By now, it has likely entered Ontario, crossing at Niagra Falls.
