Yu-Gi-Oh: Botanical Lion TF (1/5)
The lion has been summoned. Many consider him to be more of a defender given his defense points, however he is a plant himself, and so he already now grows from 1600 to 1900 attack points.
Allright, so I have drawn plenty of big sized Yu-Gi-Oh cards in the past, remember?

However, as much as I love the artwork on these cards, I don't use any of them! Queen Angel of Roses is a plant monster, yes, but she doesn't fit my deck. This made me think that I should perhaps try to draw a card that I actually use, and of them...... ok, maybe I like Stardust Dragon a lot, but my preference there is heavily based on his abilities, he's just a dragon.... if I'm to be more broad then it has to be Botanical Lion!

However his artwork did not seem all that "fun", so I decided to draw something original, something "special". I thought more about it and... I figured that the Lion's ability lets him power himself up, so I should do something based on that, and I created a TF sequence. That's right, it's my first TF sequence since.... <checks, its pretty much at the bottom of these pages>

Ooooooohhhh geeeeee, sorry!
See, to you Yu-Gi-Oh is just the crazy haircuts in the anime, but to me it's the story, the characters, the card game itself, the video games based on the franchise, the artwork on the cards, the monsters on the cards.... lots of things, so when someone mentions "crazy haircuts", I ask "What crazy haircuts?", because I'm so deep into this, that I don't even notice it anymore! XD
Funny, considering that I have not yet played any Yu-Gi-Oh in real offline life, nor do I own a single card yet.

I admit the anime is the first time I heard of YuGiOh as a kid (I was 8 or so when the craze came to the West) and I thought it was pretty odd.
the cards (in many Japanese card games) are imaginative, but the anime based on them are rather blasé its hard to make a pair of animated characters playing a card game dramatic.

Oh let me tell you: do NOT watch GX... it is my definitive most hated show.... THING, EVER! I despise it, it's awful! I'd wish strange haircuts were its worst problem!!!!
Of course, there is a number of clones, copies. Future Card Buddy is only known to me thanks to guys like Kami and others. I have no idea how the show is, I can't watch much anime anymore sadly.
Still, I did also watch Duel Masters, a show that seemed like a very generic show, and in Japanese it was, but the dub turned it into a legit parody of the genre. Too bad that of the 3 companies that did these parody dubs, only one did it right. By that I mean... there's a character in the show, who's an adult, but he's the size of a baby, and he wears pink baby clothes, a pacifier, and a diaper. Still, he's got the voice of an adult, his face looks like a 40 year old's and he has some slick adult sunglasses.
NOOOOOOOOWWW... how do we make that funny? One company decided to play it straight, giving it a very uncanny feel, like......... HE'S A BABY, but it just seems to get ignored, but you never get used to it, because he has a pacifier and a pink bunny pijama! Characters at best question why anyone put this guy into the scene. Now that's funny!
Then another company took over... cue the diaper jokes, the baby puns, everything... It was so oversaturated that it got boring at the first joke.... we get it, he's a baby, there's nothing surprising or unexpected about making baby jokes. If you instead play it serious, then it feels weird, and....... I've forgotten what our topic was, I'm sorry!

I believe you on that well that's what happens when you squeeze the cash cow dry, you'll end up with a dud
Basically they're pretty much all the same when you break them down:
- protagonist who wants to be the best....like no-one ever was.
-know it all side character
-hot head side character
-antihero who sneers at the others and says he's better
-Over the top villain who wants to do....evil stuff with cards :o
that whole Duel Masters sounds really silly :O

Funny how of all the shows, regardless of Yu-Gi-Oh being the archetype here, it did not really go there....
-YuGi nor Yami were ever upbeat stupid kids
-there was no brainy kid on the team
-Kaiba never was a true member of the team, and he wasn't sneering or mean, that's what the English dub added

Oh Sirius... no, he's not smart, he's just the secondary character with more interesting backstory than Jaden. And Jaden has to be the best at anything, because he has no story, no dreams, no efforts to improve himself. This is what I hate so much about GX, its implications that people who work hard are bad and everyone should just play and do games. A lot of fans defend it by saying that in the last season Jaden changes, but I don't see that! He's an irresponsible prick all the way!
I DIGRESS, as to your sentence about "being emo for loosing a card game"
Yu-Gi-Oh:
-Yugi looses to Kaiba, and might not take part in the tournament...... a tournament that he's in TO SAVE HIS GRANDFATHER, that can make a guy sad
-Yugi looses to Rafael, Yami Yugi s broken down..... because loosing in the duel made him loose his normal Yugi side. This is especially heartbreaking, because this only happened because Yami was willing to do anything to win, so he's the one to blame for this. It's my favorite part of the original YugiOh series
Yu-Gi-Oh GX:
-Jaden looses to Aster and he gets emo...... to the point of running away from the duelist academy, AND STEALING AN EXPENSIVE SHIP FROM THE SCHOOL TO ESCAPE... because he lost the gift of talking to his cards. Of all the things in Yu-Gi-Oh, this is the most extremely whiny emo action, and it's for the stupidest reason!

that GX sounds worse and worse every minute
and as for Yugi and the emo thing, yeah I can see that I'm sorry, I've been watching the YuGiOh abridged series and when it came to the Kaiba duel thing they made fun of it and honestly I thought it was funny too all this over a kids card game.
that Jaden needs to lighten up :V

I know, but I see this as something people get wrong when doing TF sequences. Sometimes making a growth sequence grand is not about the end result being big, sometimes its about the start being small, some people have these things start so big that I see comments on them saying "Really? What's the point, this guy looks good already". Not sure that makes....
