Hey guys. This was a drawing I did a couple of weeks ago on Multi-Media Paper, pencil, and an Ink Brush. I forgot all about till yesterday, so I scanned it in and colored it. The hardest part about doing this drawing was coloring the grass in. I used the pen tool to add the blades of grass by drawing in each blade, selecting the paths, and fill it in in a dark green color, then keeping the blade highlighted, I used the airbrush to add the lighting. This process took nearly two hours to do, even though it was a very simple process; the whole entire time I spent coloring the drawing, I spent it on the mouse, which made my fingers ache and I needed to take breaks to soothe my fingers. However the hardest thing, after the grass, were the eyes. I didn't feel it was satisfactory to draw simple eyes, like how the rest of the drawing went; they kinda felt empty to me. Thankfully I have some special brushes to make it easier to make the stippling in the eyes irises.
After three long hours, including breaks, I finished the drawing. This whole illustration, meaning the coloring, was done on GIMP 2.6. If you're ever interested in getting a program like Photoshop, and want to get it for free, Gimp is your best bet. It's a freeware program, no piracy needed. look it up on http://www.gimp.org/ to get your version, there are newer, updated versions available on the website. Hope you guys like the drawing.
