Geh Dance (Companion Music to Skatoulaki)
Well, I've been working on and off on this since 2002, and I've been waiting for a submission gay enough to piggyback this song onto. ^_^

At any rate, it's got samples of my voice, Dale and Foxglove from Rescue Rodents (don't sue me Dizz-Knee!) because, well...it's meant to be silly and fun and...well...gay!
I stretched out some of the looping so it would more resemble an absurdly long beat, but I think it adds to it's wannabe professionalism. *snickers* Enjoy!

Hee! This is fun. ^^
I've always liked the songs you make; I don't know how many times I listened to the song from your website that you said would be in the background of your art CD. It's just perfect surfing music. n.n
And this is great because the beat keeps punching me in the gut. XP It's deeper and more insistent than most beats I've heard, strangely...

I'd have to listen on a real system to fully tell but I wasn't disappointed with the bass.
only thing that bugged me was it sounds like you caught a bit of high frequency "TV whine" some where in the beginning. that's very easy to get rid of by putting a high cut filter set below the ringing frequency on the culprit track.
I thought some of the cartoon giggles were mixed too loud but that might just be the crapy system I'm listening on, so no worries there.
with the bass, honestly most people like over whelming bass levels. Some people go way too far with the bass and all it does is muddy up the other things trying to play.
personally I think it really depends on the feel of the tune. if the feel is 'kick you in the ass, dance you fucking bitch!' then a more pumping kinda bass kick is what I'd recommend, but this tune is more cute and friendly so I don't think it really needs more than what you have. I'll bring this to the studio though and listen there. If there is an issue with the bass kick, it's usually as simple a fix as swapping out the bass kick with some thing a little more punchy. If the problem is only slight, then usually you can just throw an EQ on the bass kick track and tweak till it sounds right.
I’ll post again once I’ve listened in the studio. Always remember that if it’s a mixing issue, mixing is VERY hard to get right. The system one is listening and/or mixing on can make all the difference in the world. You can spend a lot of time mixing and still have it sound thin on certain systems. It’s unavoidable that it will sound thinner on some systems and thicker on others. Hence the evils of mixing. Trying to get that magic balance that makes it sound good on MOST systems lol.
