So I picked out some palettes that gave me trouble when working on custom designs. I really hope this doesn't offend anyone - i'm not trying to say "if you use x colour palette, you're wrong" - it's just some suggestions.
Furthermore, these 'suggestions' don't apply to all designs, all the time, without fail, but so far they've been working alright for my design work. Hope it helps. If not, feel free to disregard this, as I've never taken a single art class in my life and probably don't know what I'm taking about.
Edit: lmfao Im not going to fix the typos. Words are hard, that's why I draw pictures all day.
Edit2: I forgot to add. If you ask for an albino palette with light coloured 'glowies', you and I need to have a talk.

Faved, so hardcore. If it's okay, I'd like to post it in my adopt account (with full credit and link back to you, of course) just to keep it as a reminder for next time I try to figure out a custom adopt.
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this. It's like you took so much that my artsy friends have been telling me over the years and summed it all up so nicely!

I find this useful, mostly on my commissions ppl sends me references with characters with over saturated colors and these references comes from artists that does know how to draw too! Idk how they don't get their eyes burned! I usually desaturate the colors so it looks more natural... I also agreed to not touch the whites at 100% or blacks at 100%
Haha, well the problem with very light coloured palettes along with light coloured glowies is how difficult it is to make the 'glowies' distinguishable.

Darker glows are easier to see but the term 'dark glow' seems like a bit of an oxymoron, and honestly, the glowing effect just makes it look like the markings have some bizarre shading to them that doesnt affect the rest of the design. http://ic.pics.livejournal.com/ryni.....1_original.png

gosh completly black or white characters are a pain to shade .. I always switch the color a bit and still don't look ok XD hate hate hate that ... a dark grey always look better than a black BLACK character ... no shades there ... you can't have a darker color than Black! same with white but with lights sorry but no lights :/ is a pain xD
