A drawing of my Cassiel (designed by quardiian on dA) with Sadbloom's Clarence as a puppy.

Clarence padded into the streets after his parents. He tried desperately to keep up with them, but his small feet could barely muster the strength to carry him as fast as he needed to go. They were fading fast into the distance. His parents, his solidarity. By the time he had rounded the corner chasing after them they were gone, forever. Clarence stopped - the sound of his heart breaking was altogether audible by everyone passing by - and he fell back hard onto his rump. His ears drooped down flat against his face as the first teardrop fell. "Mommy…? Papa..?" He whined, wagging his tail slightly in the hopes that they would return. Silence responded, stinging his face with the harsh reality of his abandonment. The sudden sense of isolation burned Clarence's young heart. Cassiel, only a witness to this event, stopped in his tracks when hearing the sound of these poor whimpering cries. He watched the child as Clarence sank further into the despair of his own loss. Comfort. The thought tinged lightly in the angel's mind and he wrapped his paws around the child to provide him with what he desperately needed. Company. Solace. Companionship. Clarence, surprised at suddenly sensing another presence, cried on the angel's shoulder. He cried out all the negativity that the world had burdened him with and looked up at the kind soul who had offered him help. "P-please…" he hiccuped through his tears, "Please don't leave me..." Cassiel smiled down softly at the crying pup, and simply nodded.
