Another old picture. This one is of Cowboy, an older horse, who decided it'd be nice to take a nap in the hay we'd put out in the dirt pasture. He was pretty deeply asleep and didn't even notice me coming up to take his picture.

Horses will sleep on their sides if they feel safe enough. Some, like Cowboy, often won't even flick an ear if you call out their name. The barn gets a bunch of calls or people coming in to tell us they saw a 'dead horse' out by the fence when they do.
