Phew, the main part of the cutting is now done - I just have the in between the claw bits and the bottom panels to do. The branch the owl is sitting on is a very deeply coloured red-brown with wispy swirls through it.

While the lower half of the background looks dark blue, it's actually quite bright - hold it up to the light, and it becomes a translucent green, blue, red and purple shade with darts and circles through it. It's quite impressive glass. The purple at the top is quite transparent when held up to the light, so it should make a fairly big contrast.

The owl is about two feet tall and roughly fifty different pieces of glass.
