The Little owl, or was it small owl, not remeber any more. Anyway, it is this little species of owl, that started the wise owl thing, evn though, they are dumb, and have not much brain power.

No, was due to the fact they were found in the Greek temples, and were worshipped with the goddess Athena.

At the time it was not considered a good move to visit Athena and tell her off for her owls being a bit dumb in the head. :>
