Your hands and knees are all sorts of colors. Gorgeous art though! I'd demand that section of concrete to take home.

You know I have several people each year ask me if I get really upset that it's just gonna be washed away, and I'm REALLY SURPRISED- but I'm not bothered by that. I guess it's because I get a chance to work on a big art piece at least once a year and everyone is super nice and motivational when they talk to me about what I wind up drawing.

But I would probably be seriously aggro if I couldn't take 134209021 pictures of it to remember it by xD

It took me about 4 1/2 hours! And that was counting the time I would spend just sitting around looking up at the sky or answering people's questions that were walking by. I'm usually on the ball at these things but I was lazy as fffrack that morning.

You should try it! It's a little frustrating with time limits (this was a contest) but just sitting there and taking your time is really relaxing and a great way to get INTO your art. Or, get your art all over you either way it's therapeutic as messs.

It sounds like it could be very relaxing on a nice day. Maybe not so much with a time limit > u <

Nah, just chalk!

For bold colors, I 100% recommend Prang Chalk. That's the chalk they give out,

but to save time on blending- and also so I don't end up with such harsh colors in places I don't want them- Crayola's new 48 packs are cheap, but still really rich in color.

Then for smaller details I like to use colored pastels (fancy word for 'TinyChalkSticks')

And lastly, for extra fine details like the eyes and stars, I use charcoal pencils! That way I can always get a fine point to draw with if I sharpen them

I do love working on it though, makes me feel like I can actually still do okay traditional art. /EvenThoughICan'tOhNo I just go out here to this festival and draw things I'm obsessed with. Like, space. Or the year before, dragons. Or Star Wars y'know whatever I'm fangirling hard over that time of year 8D

Just looking at this image. At first I was like "those are pretty boobs"

then I saw what you were drawing and was like "oh wow, I love that detail of the sphere and oh its right where the heart goes oh man where are the pictures of the finished thing and she put that in her link"

Then I saw the fin. "oh my gah iron cored planet that is so badass!"
