More 'funny animal' art from the past appears, as my latest 'sweeps month' (May, 2014) continues...
As a follow-up to last week's image "Blaze T. Stallion" (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13400330/), here's another piece of fan art that I'd rendered, accompanying a letter to another talented anthroartist: G. Raymond Eddy, a.k.a.
AngelBear_OH...
Eddy and I first met, in the 1980s, when we were both contributors to the APAzine "Inside Joke". During the 1990s, when I was a contributor to "The Dallas Brawl Update" (or "DBU" for short), Eddy had his own original character for the monthly digest: an ethereal vulpine called 'The Shining One' (whose alternate identity is that of mild-mannered fox 'Roland Redpelt'). His costume has a life of its own, as it would sometimes talk to Roland.
In late March of 1993, I'd sent Eddy a belated birthday card and a letter (apologizing for the card's tardy arrival). In said letter, I'd told him about my first few months in Margate, FL - including Mom's help in finding me new digs, my first job (telemarketing for Craftmatic Adjustable Beds), and going to various places and events in south Florida...
I'd also told him about the wrath of Mother Nature I'd avoided, following my move from Reading, PA (including earthquakes and blizzards). Of course, most of the midwestern USA suffered a lot during the Winter of '93 - especially lots of sub-freezing temperatures - which might be one of the reasons why I'd used a postage stamp, with "Oklahoma" (the musical) on the envelope containing my correspondence. Below the stamp, I'd rendered my own version of 'The Shining One', talking to his costume about my particular choice of postage.
Twenty years later, while cleaning up my cluttered condo, I had rediscovered a photocopy of my letter to Eddy, along with that envelope sketch of 'The Shining One', which (with his permission) I've decided to share with all of you... Enjoy!
