The manor was a big building for me. Why do they live in such a big place when they don't need half of it? Anyway, I had to break in the place.

There were two guards at the front gate, nothing to be surprised on that side. The courtyard is blocked by walls at least five times my height; this is going to be a bit of a challenge. It seems no one was near; I'll give it a try and climb. The wall was made of bricks, I had a good grip so I could climb it with relative ease.

On the wall, I could see two guards wandering in the courtyard. Yikes! I felt on the other side of the wall in a bush.

- "Did you hear that?" said one of them.
- "Hear what?" said the other one.
- "I'll check it out" said the first one, walking in my direction.

Talk about bad luck. Okay, I had a trick for that kind of situation, I hope it will work.

- "Miaou…"

That's the first thing I had in mind, a cat. Maybe they will think it was just a cat who fall over the wall.

- "A cat? I think it's just a cat who fall off the wall" the first guard said.
- "Since when cats fall off the walls?" the other guard said.
- "It happens. I have seen cats fall off walls before, poor little creatures" the first guy said.
- "Should we put an end to his suffers?" the other guard said.
- "Naa, I'm sure he will be alright." The first guard said, before walking away.

Good, now I can go… ouch… my back hurt. Okay, now I can go away. I just need to find a window or something to get in. I waited for the guard to look into the other direction before moving out of the bush.

There was a window near, it was partially opened. I could open it up; it wasn't locked.

Inside the manor, the lights were out; it will be easier to sneak inside. Where would they hide the Black Diamond? In a chest? Hidden in the walls? The Elf guy could have been more useful for this forced task. Let's do it quick, before someone could notice me.

The ballroom, the dining room, the hall, the kitchen, I give a quick look in each of those rooms : lot of silver plates, no jewelry. Time to get to the upper floor.

Mmm… I must be careful here, I hear something. Someone singing upstairs, a lady's voice, it's beautiful. I'll have to get a quick look at the other rooms before she gets out.

The first room is a library. I would have liked to read a book or two, but it's not the right time for. There was no jewelry here. I moved up to a second room. It looked like a bedroom. There was light coming from under another door in the room. I think it's where the singing lady is. I hope I'll get the time to check the place before she notices me.

Strange metal pieces, a book written in a language I don't understand and a few metal bracers. Oh? There was a little chest under the bed. As I go under it, the door opens. From my hiding stop, I can see feet moving in the room. Crap, please please please, don't look under the bed. What will happen if she finds me? The guards will surely turn me in.

I tried to keep calm on the floor and wait till she gets out.

- "For how long you're going to spy me?" she said. "Show yourself!"

Damn it, she knew all along I was down there. Maybe if I do get out she will let me go. So I get out of under the bed. In front of me there was a human lady. She was beautiful. She had long black hair, a tint from another region. She was slim and tall. She was wearing a dress make of red silk. I could lose myself in her green eyes.

- "What are you doing here? Creature" she asked me.

I was completely lost in her eyes.

- "Oh me? I'm… I had to…" I couldn't answer.

What's happening to me? I never saw such beauty in anyone. I… I know that, she's casting a spell. I… I can't resist…

- "Are you going to tell me what are you doing here? You know you can't lie to me" she said.
- "I'm… I'm here to steal the Black Diamond…"
- "Why would you want such thing?" she asked me.
- "I… I need to bring it to someone…"
- "And who is this 'someone'?" she asked.
- "An Elf…"
- "An Elf? Tell me more. Don't lie to me." she said.
- "There… there was an elf guy who tricked me. Now I'm forced to steal the Black Diamond or I don't know what will happen."
- "You think that someone who can control you let you free just because you bring him a gift?" she asked.

She was right, I had no idea if he will let me got if I did bring him the Black Diamond. I was sad, very sad. What will I do now? Flee? He will know. I'm done.

- "Do you know what happen to the one who break into the house of a noble lady? They end up with their hands cut down. Don't you want to lose your hands? Creature" she said.

- "N-no, I don't. Please, I just want to leave this place."
- "Then do so. I'm pretty sure the guards will appreciate that you tried to attack a lady of my rank" she said.
- "I didn't try to."
- "Who do you think they will believe? Creature" she said.
- "… What do you want from me?"

Blackmail, I can't believe she's blackmailing me…
