I've really been studying how to draw and paint better. That's a fact, I can add painting to my repertoire. Watercolor pencils rock! As does Katsuya Terada's work on dragons and everything else. I learnt so much from studying his material, Like how to do awesome scale patterns! Check that stuff OUT!
Yeah, for once I do a dragon facing off to the right instead of the left. Hast-tag rightie issues. I took so many liberties with Ryuu-kun's head, I could claim the design as mine as this point. Seriously, I betcha if I didn't outright mention
let 's stuff that nobody would recognize him.
This was crazy fun to do. Felt like old times to just lose myself in the drawing process ad find out that HOURS have past and I'm behind on my responsibilities. Shame that I'm no longer 16 with free time... Oh well, at least now I can drive and buy the awesome equipment that allows me to do all this crazy cool stuff.
I just started using Micron pens. I can't believe I've never once gotten to use a set of them. They're so convenient and easy to use! I could have never done those scales without them. Seriously cool to finally have decent art supplies.
But yeah... I fubbed up on the arm scale shading. The scanner must recognize a few spots as having no color there because when I looked it over it was pretty darn saturated. Oh well I'll fix that in time. I totally should've lined the head using the 2.0 micron, that would've been good.
Cheers to Let for getting a job. I hope this encourages you to put something up!
