Not that I mean to criticize, but I have a little tip that I think would work very well with your style: You can emphasize the direction a character is looking in with the shine of their eyes. For example, in this picture since this character is looking back over her shoulder, then putting the shine to the top right instead of the top left would emphasize that. It doesn't make sense from a lighting perspective, but it works well visually.
