Silly Little Poem by

My world changes
expectations, they grow as Legion
I hold onto what I know
in a little hole
with murals across the walls
as I mutter the words of bards
to drown out the howling winds of time
Reality laughs at my folly
cold and calculating
It places traps and covers
over the hole to smoke me out
I claw, I rave
spittle flies in my rage
at a world larger than ever
and with undirected malice clever
my soul weeps
but still I rage,
a child inside
told to grow into life
but the walls confine
I think I find resolve, and stand tall
crouching like an animal no more
I can just make out the stars
the hole I will still see
but with new clarity
and tales sung by troubadours hold new meaning
pain will come, yes I know
But I will not let myself
cower anymore.
