dopplesoldners just means men paid double for being in dangerous tasks, these were men in the front rank and usually included pikemen for the most part... men with bidenhanders, contrary to normal beliefs, wernt used that much and seem to spend most of their time guarding the battle flags.. but they COULD be dopplesoldners if they were in the position of being a man paid double for doing dangerous work.
