Photograph of the paperclip Contrabass Clarinet I'm being loaned out by my orchestra. There is a piece we are performing that requires a Contrabass Clarinet player so I'll be playing this instrument for that piece. It plays one octave below the bass clarinet. This instrument is so much fun each time I get to play it. This is the largest clarinet of concert repertoire and because of it's low and relatively small range it is not too often asked for in orchestra pieces. I'll have a recording to upload soon so you can all hear it.
