One bullet left, the barrel still smoking; My partner was down to their wrench.
The battle had not been a good one, and fate had decided to test our mettle this day.
We weren't about to back down, even as we huddled in the recess of a rockface, and my partner's blood began to splatter the ground...
We readied ourselves.
This wasn't about fighting for our lives; It was beyond that point.
We fought for our warband, for the sake of honor.
And even if the gods had left us, they would see the glorious blaze we would set alight in our final moments...!
