A belated Mother's Day gift I drew for my mom. She likes cardinals. It took me a whole lot longer to finish drawing this than I had anticipated, but nonetheless I'm still happy with the way it looks.

My lord this looks really beautiful. Those branches look so natural, you got that little streak of wood that makes me think if I were to run my hand against it, it wouldn't be smooth but rather have a more bumpy feel to it. I also really like the small subtle curves that makes it really look like the branches are coming forward and towards the viewer. The branches were incredibly well made, they must've been hard no only to color, but to actually draw and give it that natural growth look to them. I bet the one branch far off in the distance was a pretty tough one since it's so small, same can be said for the flowers.
Speaking of the flowers, you again, did a very fantastic job making them look and feel real. They don't look and rough and hard, they look like fragile things that would flow in the air with ease. I like the very subtle lines in them to give them that, I guess silky feel to them. All the flowers look nice and different just like nature would intended to look like, it's not straight cute like the bird house.
But when it comes to the bird house, it does mean a lot if it looks very straight, fine and smooth. A hand crafted house should be. I really like the grain on the house, it makes it look so peaceful. And I also like the little shading feel on the corners and bottom. That bird must really enjoy it if it's its house.
The cardinal. What can I say besides how beautifully you drew it? It looks so wonderful, and seems like it's just in that moment of thought. Ya know, when they turn their heads every so often before flying off. I love it's feathers too, very finely drawn. Looks real.
Wonderful work, man. I know your mother will like it. Who cares if it's belated? It was worth the time and effort to get it done right. Good job.

Thank you thank you thank you. Yeah alot of this stuff took forever in a day to draw. I think I spent a whole day just on the branches and then another just on the flowers. They really shouldn't have taken me that long to do seeing as they're rather small. I guess it's just since I have to keep etch them out on different layers of detail. I'm really pleased with the way the bird turned out, it was actually the first thing I colored.
I just showed it to my mom about 10 minutes ago. She was very excited to see it and it made me very happy.

Well I certainly see the effort put into this and why is took so long to complete.
First off I cardinal came out very nice, liking the texture to his body and the overall face is great.
Next I see those branches and flowers. They look incredible, the colors you chose fit amazingly with into the entire picture.
Finally the bird house, it looks grand I'll just leave it at that ^^
