This is the last photo taken of Jack before he departed this world to parts unknown.
I never wanted them to be outdoor cats, my father felt otherwise, namely he couldn't keep doors closed. I knew in my heart one day it would be one day too many. Now here I sit, filled with regret, wishing that I had taken better command of the situation, to better protect their lives, and maybe, just maybe, he could be sleeping in my lap right now.
Hence the song I'm listening to now, Castaway, by Seabound.
Take this ray of light
Veil the moon and hold the tide
Calm the wind - you might
Control the sea
If you save my life
We will rise
And shine so bright
That the stars go blind
And leave
Leave the sky

Live each day as it were your last together, trust your feelings

awww, I can sympathize with you, I know how it feels to loose a beloved cat, I had lost two in the last few years, one had a bowel obstruction and the other was born with a heart defect that left his heart walls abnormally thick and his chambers abnormally small, eventually he died ultimately of a heart attack one day and I was devastated because he seemed so healthy and frisky that morning, only to discover he died just after everyone left for the day, he was only seven months old when this happened. and he was lucky to have survived this long, because usually if a kitten dies during a neutering procedure, its usually because of the same heart condition he had, and he pulled through, a month afterwards, he started to gain a lot of weight, and then one day, he was gone forever, I still get misty eyed when I tell the tragic story of my beloved cat Gizmo.
