Also, yinglet faceplants make me wince with that protruding front tooth. She's lucky she didn't chip it.

Never fear! Yinglets have a tendency to lose those front shell-breaking teeth in a great number of ways; accidents, fights, cracking open an oyster the wrong way, etc. but they grow back within a month or two.

It is, however, considered pretty embarrassing to appear in public without one's front tooth. Haha, lookit the toothless loser!

Some yinglets make a living carving tooth-shaped stones for the toothless unfortunates to stick in their mouths while they wait for their real ones to grow back. The whole process is something yinglets want to avoid, so threatening to break one's tooth is an effective, non-lethal way of threatening them.

...Then again, one could just as easily punt them down the street.

If the front teeth stops yinglets from saying "th"-sounds, does that mean yinglets with broken teeth is able to say it?

Unfortunately not! The problem isn't 100% with the front tooth, but rather that there aren't any teeth to the left or right of it to create the narrow air canal that makes the sound.

That's enough to convince him and I'm with that guy behind him, about how long it took him.

Though the quick plan for a cure is this. Find the Yinglet that sold this to him and found out where she got it, hopefully it changes the victim due to the person who holds that stone first. So basically if a human grabs the stone first and gives it to the newly formed Yinglet and breaks it on him, then the Yinglet should change back into a human, problem solved.... if only it would be that easy...

I know, right? What was that thing, how does it work, are there others, and will Kass and Elim ever save up enough money to buy some sturdy lead tableware!?

But then Kass'd still be male, no? Maybe Lopin simply found an artifact from some ancient yinglet society lost to the mists of time?

Even among yinglets, walking exclusively on all fours is seen as primitive and barbaric. He'd get around easier, but think of the scandal!

Well she adjusted to her speech remarkably quickly, all things considered. The tiny hand-feet, not so much.

But alas, not even Kass could find a way around their "th" deficiency.

This is a perfect illustration of how friends can identify one another when one of them has been transformed by unknown agency into another species.

Might also be useful when dealing with creatures which can mimic another's form, as long as they can't access memories too.

On the other hand, if you're living in a place where "a doppelganger mimicking the form of one of my friends" is an issue you actually have to consider, it's probably time to move.

On the other other hand, when you do have to move, 'you' can still stay home.

another lovely installment. Though is it just me, but doesn't Kass's chest appear a little flat chested if he just went through a TG in the second cell? just thought to point that out.

Just a little! It was mostly so that the big reveal could be pushed to the next week, but you can see a little outline in panel 2 when Kass is standing upright, where "they" were pressed back and to the side a bit. And in all the other panels, Kass is i positions that let his shirt hang loose, obscuring any surprises underneath~

Gods, I love that proof of identity.

It's probably just me, but in panel 2, it looks like Kass is marching like a WWII German soldier. The comparison doesn't stop there with his little arm raised, giving a certain salute to a certain führer.

Aside from that, Kass's front tooth getting stuck in the floor and the redness in Galen's eyes from the drugs were little bits I appreciated. Not to mention, Galen recognizing Kass as the scav in the room by his/her insult must mean this hasn't been the first time Kass has told what he truly thinks of his "friend."
