On May 17, 1954, the Supreme Court of the United States made a ruling for ”Brown vs. Board of Education”
Segregation against Black students from White students was made “unconstitutional” in public schools.
Therefore, the “ad nauseum” from Plessy vs. Ferguson of 1896 was trumped by this landmark case during the Civil Rights movement of the 20th century.
Separate but Equal…my ass.
You cannot SEPARATE justice.
Happy 60th Anniversary.

I would've thought separation of people is the absolute sign of inequality.
There was an interesting thing about an army info film or pamphlet about how US soldiers going to be stationed in the UK should be prepared that the UK doesn't enforce segregation.
I'd like to say Racism doesn't exist in Australia, but it does. Most recent issues were in a neighbouring city with the Aboriginal Australians and immigrants from Pacific Islander nations, this however is probably more exacerbated by the issue of high unemployment and low socio-economic status of the area.
Oddly enough we've never had a high population of people with African heritage here, only now are we getting more Sudanese refugees and immigrants. Cripes we're only now getting people from South America, I'm glad they're coming as there wasn't much access to good South American food, music or culture beforehand.
If you ever go to Japan it's a real culture shock if you're used to seeing people from different family heritages, there are so few people there that aren't Japanese it surprises me everytime.
