They came in the midst of a particularly lazy afternoon, with camera equipment and wardrobes and backdrops and all manner of to-do. The gentlemanly magazine wanted to "branch out" into rougher masculine endeavors, such as wrestling, and Elek's reputation made him one of the candidates for the photo-shoot. They wanted suave an sophisticated, pomp and proper, and it soon became clear that the wrestler's role was not to draw in the rough-and-tumble men to read the magazine, but to spark interest in the more gentlemanly audience about wrestling.
