he's having an adverse effect on my snakes

I would GTFO immediately if a snake hissed at me.

Hognoses hiss as a sign of fear-- they usually accompany it with flattening their heads out (to appear like cobras and their hoods) or pretending to strike (without biting). She usually hisses at me because im a big scary creature digging her up, picking her up, etc. so she's trying to scare me away. She calms down pretty quickly, usually.

I took a video of me trying to feed her last night and this kind of behaviour is pretty typical. She's not aggressive, just scared or hungry.
