Rebuilt my fursuit head last year, rebuilding the face from scratch using epoxy putty resin with the original muzzle.
Uses my own eyes with makeup.

Awkward is the perfect word!
Mixed the two part putty, had to layer the sheet over my face and make eye holes.
Itt kept falling off / sagging so I mounted it on tinfoil molded to my face shape to hold it til it cured, then built up the eyes so they were symmetrical without going over my field of vision.
Difficult work but it's so comfy because it sits flush to my face and doesn't rub. Holds nicely as a common problem for moving jaws is the whole head moving instead.
