So this is a character from one of my non-TF based stories: Eli a "half-fallen" Angel. His full back-story might go too much into Christian Theosophy for some. but here are the basics:

Basically Angels are defined by their loyalty and faith in God, which they need to stay in the light of His presence. However Eli (not his real name, but the name he chose to go by) lost this loyalty and faith when God did not intervene on Jesus' behalf during the Crucifixion and thus was cast out of Heaven by his own doubt. He had however not committed an act of rebellion or grave enough sin to be thrown into hell with Satan and his demons.
Thus he became "Half Fallen" and was left in the "in-between", the realm of humanity which he has now roamed for almost two millennia. There are some missionaries from Heaven that try to save him by restoring his faith and some recruiters from Hell that try to get him to commit a sin heinous enough to fall into the hands of Satan.
Eli himself just tries to survive, stay independent and wait for Armageddon to come around. He is not allowed to interfere with human history too much and so mainly uses his angelic powers as a street performer and to take care of abandoned animals (hence the cat) Basically he's a hobo and it's his angelic nature alone that keeps hi from looking the part more.
