A good friend of mine and his girlfriend have recently moved into a new flat... in a converted cellar. It's a wonderful space, but it it is a bit grey and gloomy. They have covered the walls with posters and paintings, and I offered to do them a canvas for their collection.

The only requirement was that it be colourful, otherwise I was free. I started with a wet canvas and I just threw paint and water at it, then mucked around with big brushes and my hands. Once I had something messy and abstract, I sketched a panda and made a stencil which I then slapped on top. The whole thing took about 40 minutes, thanks to a hairdryer.

And that was that.
