A few days ago Godzilla came out in the theaters. Japanese audiences have complained he's too fat. American critics have nearly universally responded that it's the "western diet" he's been on. I approve of this diet! In fact, I've been obeying it ever since I found out! Boy what a difference it makes! Not too long ago I was all skinny and scrawny in http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13445567/ . Now I'm a proper sized dragon beast again! =D Thanks, western diet!
Honestly, I got tired of working on this one. I was going to do a background and play with the lighting more. There is some really harsh lighting going on here. However, every time I mess with the image I feel like I make it worse. I feel like this is its best state and it won't get any better than it is in this picture. I had hoped for better, but I'm going to treat it as a learning experience and move on.
What do you think? Do you like it? Hate it? Want to rub all that soft belly? Got some things for me to crush under the weight of those titanic thighs? >=D Tell me! <3
In the interest of full disclosure I have been studying other artists again and trying to pick up the things about their art that interest me. This specific pose came from a Kitora image at http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5894782/ . I have no idea exactly how my image came to be because I normally discard images that are this close to the original pose.

Here's the higher resolution version. It's 1440 pixels wide instead of the 1024 one I put on FA. https://www.dropbox.com/s/dew57otom.....tmyr1440_c.png =)
You did well there in the end. The shadows on the belly and under the tail maybe too heavy still but everything is a huge improvement. You are wise stopping here and learning from this for your next picture as a few people will just keep tinkering with their work and knowing when to stop is key. You have done a good job, the bulk and the anatomy is still good and I am a little sucker for the small head, gigantic bodies ratio.
More of these will be awesome ^www^

Thanks for all your help! You made me think about a bunch of things I need to keep in mind for the next picture. I boxed myself in on this one when I merged all layers, saved, did scales in painter, and then came back to photoshop. Made it hard to do something about the extra dark shadows. Won't make that mistake next time. ;)
No problem! You really did a great job drawing this piece! I really like the colors and the feather work! Pretty cool design too. But yeah, i agree! The mix of muscle and fat looks really great if done correctly (which you did). Afterall, you want to be packing in all that fat, you have to be strong to do so right lol? Yeah, i like huge and soft too. The strong enough to flatten anything is just makes it even better lol. It sure is auite the change from before!
This is a pretty good pic
As for my personal critique I'm sure someone has said this but the belly shading is a bit dark especially considering the direction of light. I would say a background would help a bit but if you don't wanna do one that's understandable. Especially if you were getting tired during the end of the pic( has happened to me before)
Anyway it looks really good. Fat kaiju is a good look for ya XD

I've been going for this http://gamentrain.com/wp-content/up.....ragon-boss.jpg sort of coloring lately for some reason. Nice full range that captivates the eye. I definitely need to step up the lighting for next time though. Thanks!
Thanks! And sure, you can nap on that big soft belly! You might be interested in the lower right of http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13325025/ too. =)
