I definitely do not draw a lot of my Mewthree, Harddense, and I also definitely don't ever draw him paired in any image with Mewblade exclusively. This image was an attempt at focusing on Harddense's strengths, rather than just being my stand-in whipping boy like I tend to make him out to be. Really is the moment for my resident metal head (that isn't Pronema, or Mewblade or...) to shine. I want to say this picture is 100% accurate to the scene from the Mewblade novel "Family Matters" and while the time of the day and the phrase might be incorrect, this is really not far from what generally transpired during Mewblade's battle versus her three siblings: Harddense, Demisewan and Swadeaqua.
While Harddense is the most gentile, and technically the biggest coward of the group of Mewthrees, he is also strangely enough my actual brute/meat head. He has very dense, but tight muscle, so while he looks rather weak it is entirely misleading. His passion is for defending, not for attacking, but his stamina amongst the five Mewthrees is unmatched along with his impervious defense and physical strength. He's also the only Mewthree to have an extremely intense workout regime, which makes him the most fighting trained (writing that makes me laugh though). Mewblade, his sister (yes, the Mewthree he is fighting refers to herself as a "she"), is not particularly skilled at drawn-out combat. She is my most versatile fighter, and also one of my strongest healing characters, but it also makes her my biggest beat stick out of my 250+ character armada. She does nothing but struggle and soak damage. So in the moment where she runs out of ideas of how to fight her brother, she tries to use "Bulk Up" as a way to literally out-muscle him. Despite the attempt, Harddense can more than easily hold his own. Maybe he's a little cocky when he's got the upper hand/talon, but he is truly nothing but humble... usually.
It is relatively against my own personal policy to do screenshot-like images, mostly since I never draw them in the relatively right scale, and then there is the fact that while I do draw scenes from my stories, I may not prefer to portray them in such a manner. As the style, angle, poses and framing fit that sort of mood, then I decided to definitely go with it, and keep to simple light sources and shading as well. By doing it this way, with a strong backlight and night sky, it also helped with character/color balance since other scenarios would make Mewblade (who is already more visually dominant due to her complexity and how much page space she takes, along with the strictly dark color) way too much of an image hog. This gave the smaller and lighter colored Harddense a better chance to stand out with what I did in the end. Either way, not my thing but quite pleased with it. Mewblade still looks really scary with that expression and all the muscle to back it up.

I for one really enjoy the feel of the composition alltogether, shows off a lot at once without being too -in your face-y- and the screenshot style somehow just 'fits' in very well with the strenght the image is conveying
Also, I must say I'm impressed at how nicely detailed the anatomy is, and yet, it still doesn't breaks the Mewtwo designs so it manages to remain familiar and within 'usual' bounds, good work on that
