On Ubuntu it is by default, but you can enable it if you want. Also sudo su would make you root. :P
(although your user name would not be the root user :V)
BUT GALAXYFOX IS ALL LIEK "WE'RE GONNA MAKE CERTAIN USERS ROOT", cuz daz wat they do. :p Even though running as root constantly ish nawt such a good idea. But if you know what you're doing you'll be fine

I cheated - My G710+ came with o-rings. Was annoying to transfer all of them over to the Max Keyboards translucent side printed keycaps though. I had a CoolerMaster Stealth for just under a week with MX Greens and I loved typing on it, I just couldn't stand the TKL layout, so odds are eventually I'll swap out browns for a mix of green and blues (blues on the modifier keys), and probably change the LEDs used for backlighting at the same time (still keep the white, but go with 2x2x3mm rectangular ones since they put out more light).
If I wanted a truly loud keyboard, there's always Unicomp *grins*

:P
I kinda wanna get one of those Unicomp keyboards (they're the ones which are pretty much the IBM Model M right? :P).
But I love my green switches sooooo much. However, I may actually like buckling springs more or at least just as much, as I hear green switches are pretty similar to them in feel and such.
My keyboard has no fancy LED's or anything though. :P But that's what I wanted.
Daz mai keyboard: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13294408/ (it's against a black surface so you can't really see it very well :p).
I luv it <3 :P
I NEED TO START BRINGING IT WITH ME TO COLLEGE :V but I have a feeling people would not aprechiate how loud it is. :p Especially when all my classes involve code of some way or another (Java, Javascript, HTML; stuff liek dat :P).

Yup, the Unicomp's are essentially brand new Model M's - they bought the rights to the buckling spring design something like twenty years ago. From what I've heard, the Cherry MX Green was designed to replicate the feel and most of the sound of the buckling spring. In all honesty, I've no idea if it does or not, as I haven't touched an IBM Model M keyboard for, oh... Easily twenty years now! :P
Nice keyboard! PBT or ABS caps, out of curiosity?
As for mine, this is how it currently looks...

I'm seriously contemplating getting a TKL again for travelling as well as a second keyboard - I already have permission to bring a keyboard into work for use when I snag the driver's computer to do this or that provided drivers aren't required ^_^

The caps are ABS
(this is the thingy on their site where they're talking about them :p http://support.wasdkeyboards.com/cu.....-keys-made-of- )
I saw that keyboard on Linus Tech Tips or one of the things Linus does. :P (the one that you haz)
I might just bring my current keyboard wherever I go though, cuz disconnecting it from the computer is really easy as the USB cable is detachable and uses the same microUSB thingy that Android phones use. :p
But it would be nice to have a second keyboard around. But it was expensive, so that's unlikely for awhile. :P

Oh wow, those are WASD keys? I ordered their sampler kit and never went any further than that, possibly because they'll only do top printing at this time. Either that or the fact I'd rather go with a CODE, but can't decide between Greens and Clears. I've been tempted to just pick up both versions of each set of switches (total of four keyboards) if work hands out bonuses again this year ^_^
The G710+ is a nice keyboard, but it does have a few flaws people tend to mention: some have had issues with LED backlighting, the orange around the G keys is something that you either love or hate, and not everyone likes the stealth bomber kind of look (I prefer how it looks with the wrist rest)

I just wanted a normal looking keyboard. :P Nothing fancy. :V
Also has nu backlighting cuz I wanted custom super keys and didn't want them to glow weirdly. :P Mai super keys are the GalaxyFox logo. :3
I was thinking about the CODE keyboard though, but I went with just a normal keyboard. :P But I like my keyboard a lawt. :3
