I have a few WIPs from before school was out, so I'm just kind of working on finishing those up when it seems fun. I started at my summer job basically right after I got home and while it's really interesting it's also really exhausting, haha. Sorry if I haven't hardly been active at all.
This is actually not the background I intended for this, but the background I intended did not work. = D I think this one's okay. But I've been staring at it a bit too long to tell.
Apparently this room is really dusty for some reason, but mostly I was excited to finally draw some dust motes I liked. I always love the ambient sort of effect they add to things.
I have no idea where he is or what he's interrogating for. He did used to do some interrogation work in his professional-criminal past.
Oh yeah and this sort of pose has always been one that looked incredibly hard to draw (mainly because of hands). So I wanted to attempt it. I'm really trying to get into making better full pictures, so I'd love to hear opinions on this one. In a lot of ways it doesn't live up to what I had in my head, but that's a pretty normal occurrence. I think I made some positive advancements though~

Really well put together! If there's one thing I'm noticing a trend of, it's making great, high-resolution pictures. : 3
Face is put together oh-so-sinister, the hands look pretty awesome, (I note your saying hands are difficult to do), and you're spot on when you say that the dust motes add a nice touch of ambiance.
Even better yet are the finer details. The grain of the wood along the table is all in the same direction. The hat's got the small fraction of the brim missing. His arms have those finer cuts and scars along them that make evident a life of not self-mutilation, but of getting down and dirty. Paired with his expression and the fact that he's got the viewer sat down in an interrogation room, it all comes together very well.
Part of me wants to say that he reminds me a bit of a furry-interrogator version of Willem Dafoe. Well, I think the voice would be fitting at the very least. :P
This one's gonna' be my background for a little while.

Thank you! 8D I do love me some of that hi-res.
And all that is a joy to hear~ I'm so glad everything came across so well! Tackling some of the more challenging stuff is paying off from the sound of it. I'm glad I added the scars to his character design this time around too. Previous versions didn't have them, and it always felt a bit off that someone who's been knife-fighting and such things for so many years would come away fairly unmarked. Also, props for noticing the wood grain. : D It was originally going to be a metal table or something similar, but it just looked too flat and didn't show edge-blur well. So what you see there is actually made of a noise filter overlay that I then upped the contrast and did a ton of stretching and distortion on.
I'll have to find a youtube clip or something, the only thing I know him for is voicing a fish in Finding Nemo xD I wonder if he's ever done anything with a British accent, that would be interesting (because that's Rook's default).
