Royal Ranger Dusk's Bio:

Lady Midnight Dusk of Prance, is one of two secret and special Royal Guards, serving directly under Princess Luna. The guards, Dusk and Dawn, were given special armor and privlages, as well as the title of Royal Rangers. Tasked with discreet, special missions across Equestria, they serve as an "advance gaurd" for the Royal Equstrian Gaurd.

Dusk is part of the Royal Family of Prance and rumored to be a distant relative of Princess Luna, though it is most likely just rumors spread by the Royals to gain influence. She along with her Aunt and Mother, migrated to Canterlot after complications and she shortly joined the Royal Night Gaurd months later. Her leadership qualities and fearlessness led her to being chosen by Luna herself for the Royal Rangers, becoming the equivalent of a Captain in rank. During her time as a Ranger, she came into involvement with wanted criminal Art of War, of which the details are either unknown or classified.
