Now that's my dream girl! =P Excellent work. I love the details, and I'm thoroughly impressed that this is done with acrylic paints. I would've guessed colored pencils, conte crayons, and/or oil paint. I detest working with acrylic paint, so again, I'm impressed. Great job!
Meh. I just know how Sony's Online Entertainment division treats its long-time MMO customers. ;)
Wasn't there a big flap at the PSP release about the fact that the right directional pad button was set too close to the screen and had to be offset from its sensor, causing it to be less sensitive, and Sony's stance was customers could just "get used to it?" I'd already sworn of SOE games, but that was a big part of why I didn't look twice at the PSP, and definitely biased me against the PS3 :)

Oh yeah that's definatly every guy gamer's wet dream.... I mean look at that setup, granted your missing the gaming chair, wall of DVDs and games, and surround sound but that's easily fixed.
Also you just had to have her legs spread didn't you... ha like I wouldn't notice the girl too? My you are evil aren't you. Teasing all us poor nerds like that.

the old one was better with it's storylines... they made a lot more sense... the new BSG makes little or no sense to me, because it wasn't the humans that made the robots, it was an alien species far far away that made them... didn't you two see the old series and watch the very first episode?
Although the pop-culture references go right over my head (except for Pocky... I saw that in a Fio drawing!), this image might represent the most convincing depiction of space that I've seen in any of your pictures so far -- and this time, the angles appear to make sense.
I knew you could do it.

The other way in which this picture improves upon "Femme Fatale" (and improves *drastically* upon the jumbled pictorial chaos of "Dragon Dance"), is that the composition is much more precise: the lighting and positioning emphasize the figure on the bed; all the other details are secondary... and even tertiary.
I sincerely believe that this image represents a big step forward in your level of skill... and I'm eager to see where that skill can take you next.

... The anon poster has nothing whatsoever to do with the internet, except that the internet is ONE OF the mediums they use to convey the message. Anon is a good freaking cause D:< How you can look at this and see only "a girl feeling the need to flaunt her internet savvy" is a grievous discredit to the art, not to mention insulting >_<
It is not a discredit to the art. Kacey's a very talented lady, she's awesome, I'm just laughing at the chick who commissioned her. She packed in as many fashionable 'subculture' references as she possibly could, and it just screams "LOL LOOK AT ME I AM A *COOL INTERNET GIRL*"
Also, criticism exists.
Also, criticism exists.
Well, you're entitled to your opinion, but just because someone likes things that happen to have been made "mainstream internet culture" doesn't in any way, shape, or form mean that that person is merely trying to get attention. You think maybe, just maybe, the person that commissioned the art wanted something that is actually representative of her genuine interests, and is not, in fact, trying to be Fashionably Geeky?
So, wait wait... let me see if I can get all the refs:
Stephen Colbert (doing "the word" none the less)
42 sticker
Wii
360 Elite
Guitar Hero
4 chan poster
PSP
DS
Sandman (Gaiman?)
BSG
Companion Cube
and... is that Pocky on the floor? Also, I have no idea what the anime is. But RAWK on
~Locke

I'm Ami, the dork in the commission.. And yeah you got most of the refs..
Theres also BlackBlack caffeine gum, which I love, Douglas Adams written on the spine of the book under the TV, and that "4chan poster" is right in a way if youre referring to the Anonymous poster.. But if youre referring to the "404 girl", thats Yotsuba, a manga I enjoy reading.

interesting. But I don't agree with the anon poster. Anon is evil. They even say so themselves. It's like a big collective of psycho maniacal net terrorists that exist for the sole purpose of "lulz". What kind of purpose is that? They steal personal information and post it on the web. Then they collectively send death threats to people over their telephone forcing them to change their number for fear of getting killed. oh wait that is funny! HA HA HA LULZ!!!!!!!
NOT...
NOT...
Is that a lobster on your head? Thats so cute =D
When I lived with my folks my bedroom was a crazy amalgam of geek (mostly anime otaku) stuff. I wasnt allowed a TV in my room though, which sucked. My parents said if I had a tv in my room, I'd never leave it. They were probably right.

Haha, that sounds exactly like my best friend. She's currently still with her parents and you can't even see her real walls because of all the anime posters! And her parents don't let her have computers/TVs in there for fear she'll never come out. I know I never came out of my room but my mom didn't really care. X3
And why yes, it is a lobster. My goat character Sodapop never lets her lobster plush leave her side. Or head in this case. Hehe.

I really like all the shading you put into this. It really gives the whole 10-past-one feel (god do i know that XD )
Your perspective is amazing! Though the TV looks slightly off, with a flat screen of that size, that was bound to happen.
Its amazing how you put so much into this picture and it still doesn't feel crowded, or forced, like a room could contain it all comfortably.
and finnally, to the required comment:
Whoot! sexy gaming gal!

hehe yeah, American Gods, actually I was reading, but I must leave for study, and I should restart in a short time.
but yes is very cool too. But I like more the Neverwhere, and Good Omens. My favorites books of Gaiman.
When I finish American Gods maybe I change my opinion.
You, Amy and Kacey, have a Very Nice taste for the things. (I´m not sure if I write well... sorry for my bad english I must practice a little more).

I must commend you on a most fantastic peice. I find that many full - background pics manage to swallow up the character unless there is a striking border around them. You, on the other hand manage to create brilliant backgrounds and brilliantly drawn characters and the balance is spot on!
As many have no doubt said, the girl here ticks many of my boxes. Geekey girl a geekey girl in glasses and white panties. That said I think that if she was topless she'd be less alluring....I'm strange like that.
Anyway, fantastic work, as always!

Uhm.. I still like my 360 and wii better than the ps3. But I haven't had it for long, so I've not given it a fair chance just yet. So far my favorite thing about it is the fact that I can download themes for it without having to buy them like I do on my 360.. Found some super cute domo-kun and disgaea themes for it..
I think its an okay system, I just got it under bad circumstances (my 360 RRoDing) so i was a bit miffed at first.

Yeah, I figured. It seems rather early to place any bets on it anyway. In a couple years, some of the developers will figure out what they can really do with the hardware, and then the better games will come out.
Or at least, that's my theory. =P Let me know if I'm wrong in a few years.

I think this could be used as another geek lithmus test.
The high end of the chart? When you notice the Companion Cube shirt, and you don't notice there's a person in the shirt, let alone a woman.
Someone actually had to convince me to give thi picture another look to confirm there was actually a person in there.

I find all the awesome things way to late. Not only is the subject matter made of win, but it's so well done. The light of the TV screen being the only thing to light the room while she plays with the DS (besides the DS screen itself XD). No other source of light gives a nice intimate feeling to the piece, a very good sense of comfort and contentment.
Which makes me have to say... I miss my old room ;.;

This is incredible. Look at the detail everywhere, look at the pretty girl, and look at the DS.. This's awesome. EVery guy's wet dream (and it'd get him wet, I'm sure.) This picture does the mental image justice-- especially with Colbert on the tv with "Geek". Such amazing work-- just that TV speaks volumes, besides the lighting of the room!
Very talented. You deserve all 500 faves, or more :D
