Situated at 3198′ on the crest of the Santa Lucia Mountains, Hi Mountain is located in the Los Padres National Forest between Lopez Lake to the south and Pozo to the northeast, in San Luis Obispo County. The tower itself is maintained as an interpretive learning center, and is open by appointment. Access to the catwalks and surrounding area is publicly available, if you're willing to hike the 1/2 mile from the gate.
