there are plenty of tutorial youtube videos on how to get started, you'll almost definately need instruction for getting the bobbin started, after that the best way to learn in my opinion is just by playing around with it (on scraps of course).

yep i closed up a pillow case already lmao
and thankfully the people who gifted it to me used to sew A LOT. i was taught how to start the bobbin and thread it and shit

i dont own this model but i have a singer too. even the cheap ones are handling faux fur just fine. i have one that was not too pricey and still got wonderfull results in sewing with them.

well you need a heavy duty needle for that model. that will make a difference. If not, your going to risk the chance of thread/fabric getting all nasty.
