Those who have been reading my Krystal Mercs series would know that it introduces two new additions to the Arwing series fighter craft. So far I have refrained from being too descriptive about their actual appearance in the couple of chapters currently out, primarily because A) I suck balls at accurately describing such things in detail, and B)... there wasn't really very much to describe in the first place.
Rather than struggle with the back and forth of trying to convey an image in my head to an artist, with a menagerie of mismatched reference images and piss poor vocabulary skills, I decided to try my hand at some 3D designing of my own. And while what I have been doing is essentially absolute beginner level stuff, and I only really have a shakey grasp on just what the hell I'm doing, I'm pleased to say that I am making some progress.
Above is a WIP of the MarkII Arwing. Roughly 30% larger, overall, to the original Arwing design, and with twice the power. At present this is just an initial design and may not be what the final design looks like. My 3D skills are considerably low and restricting my potential design possibilities. Hopefully as I learn and get better, so too will the design of the MkII and MkIII Arwign designs.
Seen above is the top, front, side and angle views of the MkII Arwing.
Done in Blender.
