When I was a 4 year old kid in 1995 I remember my mom and dad taking be to see Balto in theaters. When the VHS tape came out I watched that thing a million times, I must of ran that VCR into the ground. LOL!!! ^^ It was my favorite animated movie next to The Lion King.

Indeed it was my friend. I was the same thing with the Lion King though. I think it was the first movie my parents took me to see in a theater. I never owned the official VHS though, just a copy that one of our family friends recorded off the tv when they showed it on abc.

Right on bro! The Lion King was the first Disney movie my parents ever took me to back in 1994. Even back then at age 3 I can still vividly remember seeing it in the theater. The part I remember the most vividly besides the jaw-droppingly explosive Circle Of Life opening was the scene with Scar and his army of hyenas sing "Yes my teeth and ambitions are bared! BE PREPARED!!!!!" As the volcanic eruptions make the cliff he's standing on sore higher and higher into the crescent moonlit sky as the song reaches its booming climax! No moment in all my childhood during the 90s has stuck in my memory quite like that. And besides the awesome story, great actors and breathtaking animation, that childhood memory may be one of the reasons why The Lion King is my favorite Disney movie of all time! ^^
