Here goes another picture of me standing atop the legendary Hippie Hill in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, taken by an awesome photographer from New Zealand named Jonathan Clark. I'm uploading it as a reference for some art I need done soon.

It's all good man, wasn't meant to be, I had some fun there but I also saw a lot of fucked up shit. The ruthless gentrification of San Francisco in particular has turned the entire fucking city into some weird yuppie socialist nightmare with hardly any middle ground between homeless schizos and rich ass code developers. Most of the real artists I met lived in Oakland, which is where I was actually hiding out most of the time. I'm perfectly happy living in NW Arkansas again where basic self-defense is still legal and now so is gay marriage. :P
Self defense is also legal here in Oregon (and the open carry laws are looser than Arkansas, surprisingly), and the rich yuppie types don't mix with the real socialists or anarchists so much.
I find California's problem is that it's everyone's project, everyone's focus, and everyone's goal and dream, so it turns out to be nobody's dream when it's all said and done because so many factions are vying for control. But that's always kind of been the case (without revealing too much, I remember the Bay Area from a time before I was actually born).
Also, the culture in Cali is just so much more jaded and cynical. Cynicism goes a long way to making a place shitty.
